Julien Remy
Hi there! I’m Julien. I’m a current undergrad at Columbia University, where I’m diving deep into Computer Science and Mathematics.
I am a teaching assistant for the Columbia University computer science department. Last fall, I TAed Advanced Programming, a systems programming course in C. This semester, I’m helping run Intermediate Computing in Python, a data structures course for non CS majors.
I volunteer with the Columbia Spectator student newspaper engineering team. We are one of the nation’s oldest college newspapers and produce a variety of products that serve the Columbia community. Currently, we’re working on the Android version of our mobile app, after the successful launch on iOS last fall.
This past summer, I was a research intern at the MILES research lab at CNRS and Dauphine University in Paris. During my internship, I focused on quantifying uncertainty in large language models.
I strongly believe that new technologies should have a societal mission, and for the last 6 years I’ve been volunteering for the Fondation Abeona which champions responsible and sustainable AI. I created their website and organized events.
I love opera, music, and theater in general. I’ve participated in several junior productions at the Salzburg Opera Festival.
